Gujarat Council of Science City
 
he Government of Gujarat has set up Gujarat Council of Science City for the purpose of conceptualizing, developing and operating Gujarat Science City. The Council is a registered autonomous society. Dr. Manjula Subramaniam, IAS, the Chief Secretary to Government of Gujarat is its Chairman. Its Governing Body includes eminent Indian scientists, architects and planners.

Govt of India : Active Support
"Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri L. K. Advani laid the foundation stone of the Science City project at Ahmedabad on 30 th May 2001. Hon'ble Union Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Anant Kumar, the Guest of Honour of the occasion announced sanction of Rs. 41 Crores for this project as a GoI support to the Project. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat announced that State proposed to extend the area under the science city from 200 hectares to 750 hectares with a vision to establish it as the largest project of its kind in Asia. Hon'ble Minister of State for Information Technology along with the several scientists, academicians, MPs, MLAs, top industrialists and bureaucrats were also present on the occasion. "
