oday is World Ozone Day!

September 16th has been designated as World Ozone Day by the United Nations, with the goal of continuing the awareness and monitoring of the condition of the ozone layer surrounding the Earth. The theme for this year celebration is Act Ozone Friendly - Stay Sun Safe!

On 19 December 1994, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date, in 1987, on which the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was signed.

The Gujarat Council of Science City is organizing an illustrative poster exhibition and slide-show on the above theme to mark the celebration.

The World Ozone Day celebration reiterates our commitment and offers an opportunity to focus attention on the protection of Ozone Layer. So, on this day, let's look towards an ozone friendly world.
